It's a done deal!

We just got word from the real estate agent that the sellers of Cowpath have accepted our remediation. Essentially, they are giving us a little money back! Whooo hooooo! Time to start packing.

No word yet on the status of the Shadyside house. I think we the buyer has had a person from every trade come and look at this place so far. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

It's off to Jason's Dads to let the dogs run wild.

Sadie's First Haircut

Today Sadie got her first haircut. She had accumulated more than a couple of large mats in her hair. The only way to resolve this problem is to get a shave, so that's what happened today. She was more than delighted to go into the groomers and meet all the people. I don't even think she noticed I left. The only instructions I gave them was to shave her.

I called Jason on the way home to tell him I wasn't going to wait for her there, I would be coming home for a couple hours. He asked me, with excitement, "Are they going to groom her like a Wheaton." I had to tuck my tail and say no, "I told them to shave her." I then went on to explain that she had too many mats to do that.

I returned after the designated time to pick her up. At this groomers, there is a window into the back where they do the grooming. All I could see were mounds and mounds of Sadie's hair on the floor. Then I caught glimpse of Sadie's collar (I haven't actually seen her collar since we bought it because the hair always covered it up, but I recognized it because it matches Marabelle's). I don't think I would have recognized her if I hadn't seen the collar. They let her out of her crate and she was very excited to see me. She is so so soft and very cute.

I stopped by Jason's work to show him Sadie's new look. He admitted that he was a little freaked out by how different she looked (the truth is, so was I.) For a moment I had thoughts that maybe it wasn't the same dog, when I picked her up. I dismissed these thoughts quickly. Jason on the other hand, made Sadie go through her tricks. Sit (she sat), Down (she laid down), Shake (she shoke)...wait a second, most dogs can do this without a problem. Then, Be A Ballerina (she delightfully spun). It IS Sadie!

The moral: Hair grows.

Still no word on the house. We'll keep you updated on that end too.

Day at the ZOO

Yesterday, I met Mom and Autumn at the zoo. After catching up to them in the first section where are the large cats are, I crouched down and waited for Autumn to walk back onto the main sidewalk. When she walked out, she looked at me, then stared, and finally got a big smile and ran to me with open arms. She actually gave me a full-fledged hug. The rest of the trip was lots of fun too.

Autumn would get down on the ground and get as close up as she could to see the monkeys. She was so aware and into everything.

Autumn thought this was a good place to take a break. She even patted the seat next to her when a little boy walked up, as to say, come sit with me. He just gave her an odd look and kept going. Better luck next time!

She was intrigued by the stingrays!

I love this picture. You can see her reflection in the glass.

After the zoo I had met with real estate agents for the Summerlea St house. Later on that evening I went over to Ellen's and had a nice frozen pizza. We opted to stay our of the St. Patricks Day frenzy and eat in. It was still entertaining to watch all the dressed up people walk by!

This Wednesday is our house inspection. It also happens to be Jason's birthday. He was more than happy to have it scheduled on this birthday. I can tell that he is very excited about moving. Marsha, Jason's Mom, also pointed out that the address at 319 Cowpath is also Jason's birthday. I think we should play this number!

319 Cowpath Mooooooo

Our offer on 319 Cowpath was accepted today! We are thrilled to be moving to this house (as long as everything goes well). It is about 45 minutes from our house in Shadyside, but I think it will be worth it.

Here are some pictures of the dogs enduring the, now-ended, search for a house.

I didn't take any pictures of the inside because the owner was there. So check out http://www.realtor.com/search/listingdetail.aspx?mlslid=715754&ml=3&typ=7&sid=1684d0f5cc244047b4e7b5a9a3d0c080&lid=1096601278&lsn=2&srcnt=3#Detail

Here are the pictures that I did take.

We're back!!!

First I have to say I am very sorry about not keeping anyone updated. It got very hectic in January with house hunting and busy in February with finishing a wedding album. I'm back now and will try my best to keep everyone in the loop. I was trying to find some highlight pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Autumn actually does very well with her spoon. I think the yogurt all over her face could have something to do with a bored aunt who likes cheap kicks. Oops.

I was thrilled to meet my Oregonian niece over the New Year. Paloma has received the chill baby award. She's very sweet and quiet. I can't wait to see you all again!

This picture was taken at the museum when John, Amois and Paloma were in town. We had an afternoon outing with the family. Jason was showing Autumn all of the African safari animals. She was intrigued, for a hot second.

Sadie is getting big, and much better. I dare say she is completely housebroken. She's a funny dog to say the least. She is much different then Marabelle. Sadie is determined to have things her way. Her newest habit is jumping off our cozy bed, going into her crate and sleeping upside down. She's so hot that I think the hard surface and airing out her belly feels good to her. Marabelle on the other hand, she tries as hard as she can to get under the covers and snuggle up to us for the night. Marabelle has adjusted well to Sadie and her all of her antics.

I thought I might share one of our wedding pictures with you all.

Nicole, Dan, Katie (the PA), Jason and I went to Chihuly nights when it was in Pittsburgh. What an awesome show! Here is a picture of one of the works among the vegetation.

Here's Jason and Marabelle taking out the Christmas tree. It didn't seem so big when we cut it down.

So in short, we are still house hunting, both still working and trying to dodge people looking at our house in Summerlea (hopefully this house will sell soon!) Hope to update you all again soon.
